This #MDCember (see what we did there?!) we’d like to celebrate just some of the past year’s fantastic achievements. We really couldn’t do our vital work without you, our supporters, and each day will reveal another Muscular Dystrophy Campaign star. Thank you for your support, now and in the future. Wishing you all the very best this Christmas and New Year from everyone at the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.
Paralympians go for gold
Trailblazers ambassador, Ollie Hynd, who is 18 and has mitochondrial myopathy, had an amazing Paralympic Games this summer. Not only did he win gold in the 200m Individual Medley, silver in the 400m freestyle and bronze in the 100m backstroke, but his performances were also all personal bests.
GB Boccia also did their country proud at the Paralympics, winning a bronze and silver medal. The team included Scott McCGowan, Jacob Thomas and Peter and Stephen McGuire, who are all affected by different forms of muscular dystrophy. The Games marked a significant step forward for the GB Boccia team and we hope interest in this exciting support continues to grow.
