This #MDCember (see what we did there?!) we’d like to celebrate just some of the past year’s fantastic achievements. We really couldn’t do our vital work without you, our supporters, and each day will reveal another Muscular Dystrophy Campaign star. Thank you for your support, now and in the future. Wishing you all the very best this Christmas and New Year from everyone at the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.
Meet our new celebrity ambassadors
We were delighted when Channel 4 reporter and presenter Katie Razzall joined the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign as an official ambassador. As part of the Channel 4 team covering the Paralympics, Katie has also tackled social issues affecting disabled people through the No Go Britain series on Channel 4 News. Katie first became involved with us after interviewing supporter and film-maker Dr Jon Hastie about his film, A Life worth living: pushing the boundaries of Duchenne for Channel 4.
Hollyoaks actress and campaigner, Kelly-Marie Stewart is our second new ambassador. Liverpudlian Kelly-Marie is affected by Guillain-Barré syndrome, which left her unable to walk after a sudden onset six years ago. Mum to two-year-old Daisy, Kelly-Marie is a passionate campaigner for specialist advice and support for disabled mothers in caring for young children. Kelly will be joining the Make Today Count skydivers in March and has even recruited some celebrity friends to join her.
We look forward to working with both Katie and Kelly-Marie in the New Year.
